Frame animation with audio

This is another adaptation from a previous projecct, and considering this was my first time using an audio program I think I did rather well. Though I have to admit, I don;t think the music maches up "perfectly" with the video. I'm problly going to update it since the quality is a little off.

Frame animation

Hello, this is Stormy and the short animation you are viewing is a frame by frame animation of my first still which was previously featured in The Wait. How this as changed my piece, in terms of it's meaning, makes it somewhat darker and almost surreal. To me, the girl fading away and the flowers popping up everywhere implies a relationship between nature and humans. But I love to hear different interpretations so whenever you get the chance, leave a comment, tell me how you interpret it.

Walter Benjaimin: Critical Questions

1) In paragraph one, as Benjamin describes in brief, the history of reproduction, he metions how the ancient Greeks reproduced coins and called them art. What I want to know if the Greek's felt this way about this or if it was just a way of establishing their economics. After all, if it was just coins they were reproducing, then wouldent they have seen them as a currency? Will something we see as mundane be considered art one day?

2) In paragraph 4 of Benjamin's piece, he states "Instead of art being based on ritual, it begins to be based on another practice- politics". What intrigues me is that when you look at some photographic artworks, their main focus is on political issues. Does that reflect the impact of new technology on art? Or have political issues always been attached to works of art?

The Wait

Hi, I'm Stormy and this is my first triptych project done for my Digital Media class. Each panel took about 2-3 hours in photoshop and I'm very pleased with how they turned out. The last panel could use some editing, but that the only real issue I see with this piece. Half the images I used were images from a old philosophy book called Tao Te Ching, while the other half was composed of black and white photos from Google. I used a few actual objects, like a necklace and flowers; I love how they blend in so well with the rest of the image.

What I tried to convey in this piece is beauty through the passage of time, how life is still a wondrous phenomenon even as you age. The first panel represents how when your younger, people have a certain innocence and they look at the world as something strange and new. The middle piece, conveys how time affects everything and how people go through this process of aging, and yet still find beauty in some part of their lives. The last one, is supposed to represent more of the beauty of wisdom, how people lose a little of the innocent but later gain real insight on the world. The text is somewhat ambiguous and could mean a lot of things; what it means to me, though is that the people who live through the hardships of life and live through it are in a way rewarded by just the cosmic beauty of time. While I like my interpretation, I also would like other opinions about the piece. Leave a comment please.
